I'm most of the way through the Gold Box edition on DVD (both seasons). And I have the 'Fire walk with me' film lined up as well.

I saw the first season when it was broadcast on telly back in the day (1990?) and loved it at the time. I feared it might not stand up to renewed viewing, and heard unenthusiastic views about season two. But Mulholland Drive finally convinced me to dive in again!!

And I have absolutely no regrets. Twin Peaks is undoubtedly a TV classic. I know already I'll be watching it through again. The first season has the edge, but despite giving the game away half way through the (much longer) second season it is still sustained engrossing drama. The back story is interesting too, e.g.: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twin_peaks, including David Lynch's own problems with the way the series unfolded.

    Favourite characters:
    - Who couldn't love Agent Cooper
    - I like the sheriff's dry demeanour
    - Ben Horne
    - I love the Lucy/Andy interplay
    - And I have the hots for Lara Flynn Boyle (whose 'Donna' character looks less geeky in the second season).

    Favourite quote:
    - Cooper into his dictaphone that he is no longer in 100% control of his environment!

    Favourite other bits:
    - The theme and incidental music
    - The bird in the opening sequence
    - The wonderful nature shots.
