False eyelashes - any tips?

I've tried a few of the Girls Aloud lashes and I just can't get them right, I always look like a drag queen no matter what I do with them. But I see girls out looking amazing with false lashes on, is there any tips to make me look less drag queen and more glam? Are the Essence ones worth trying? Heard good things about them. Or do falsies just not suit some girls? Thanks! :)

Have you tried individual false lashes? I find that they are the best - you can just add three or four to the outer corner for a subtle effect, or more if you want to go more glam. Like you, I find that the full lashes look a bit much!

I always have to cut the strip when I get them, there's too much! You can also get some lashes that aren't much longer than your own, just to add thickness and volume. Personally I like the ones that are just a little bit longer on the edges.
After you spread on the glue, leave it to dry for a few seconds, until it's "tacky", if you get me? That means no glue mess and they should just stick on. Get them as close to your own lash line as possible, a tweezers can help.

I will say, I got Sarah Harding eyelashes with red in them, and they were shocking! Now, I'm qualified in make up artistry so I definetly know how to put on eyelashes ha! They just would not sit right!

Essene ones are fab in my books, brill glue and a lovely length for a cheap price :p

AVOID Cheryl...I bought them not knowing any of the lashes purely as they were hers and they were really drag queenish...waay over thick and ridiculously long...

I've heard good things about Nicola and Nadine's??

I usually chop the lashes up so Ive just about 1.5cm left for the outer corner of my eye - gives a bit of oomph without weighing down my eyes too much.
