    a friend of mine collects ammo and has a bullet 14.5mm in lenght and on the base is 188 on top on the bottom is 83 and star on eather side of base, any idea what this round might be, thanks.

    any idea of the caliber ,is it a rimmed round or is it a rimless round, or are you talking about the cartridge case only not the complete round . Is it a full metal jacket or a hunting round .

    Wild guess, 9mm Flobert garden gun. Rimfire.
    Some were made with round ball or little pointed bullets.
    Can't remember seing those numbers though.
