all depends on if you want to buy a 5yr old laguna really !!

no harm in taking a look at it and going for a test drive ... you might like the feel of it ...you might not.

    O000ps .... fixed

Just because it's cheap doesn't make it a bargain. Looks rough, especially the interior. Also a very limited market with that mileage

From that ad I can't tell whether the interior looks rough or not. The pictures are too poor (low res) and were taken under a sodium street lamp that distorts colour and causes shadows.

No its not a bargain when it comes to servicing costs, especially at that sort of mileage. Going for a diesel would be a better option too.

I'd want someone to pay me to take a Renault with that kind of mileage on it

He'll be lucky to get €2000 for it I reckon. No way a bargain at €2750, not even a bargain at €2000. Even Renault fans reckon those Lagunas are utter dirt.

They dont you know. Fans, reliability surveys and the press pretty much all agree the facelifted one was grand.

It'd want to have been serviced twice a year for that mileage though.

Fair enough, SaabEd I thought mentioned more than once that they were dirt, he being a Renault sales man would know. I may be wrong though.

I beg to differ I had a facelifted '06 one in 2007, well when I say 'had' I had it towed to a Renault garage quite a bit and spent most of the year in rentals. Everything broke, even the interior was weak and when it came time to change cars the fleet company had removed them from fleet and replaced them with Accords

Is there any model of car that someone hasnt had a nightmare with?

Generally they have been fine. Even the likes of honestjohn have thatthe facelifted models had the issues sorted.

EDIT : lifted from honestjohn - QUALITY VASTLY IMPROVED FROM 2005 FACELIFT AND LAGUNAS SINCE THEN HAVE HAD LITTLE TROUBLE.

I was in a team of six, five of us had them and one had a Toyota, the five with the Lagunas were always breaking down, it was a running joke.

Maybe they are good family cars but as a car that would take abuse as a reps car, stop start driving, high mileage etc they were utter ****e

Jaysis i could never see myself buying a laguna with a little petrol 1.6 engine to be honest. Its diesel or nothing. If i was going to get a french car it would be an older hdi peugeot 406. Maybe the last batch of them, a 2003/2004 model. They're apparently a good car. From what ive been told anyway.

almost 3 grand for that, how is it a bargain ffs.

and as pointed out a weedy 1.6 litre engine in a big family car is a no no

1,500e would be lucky to get for that

Lagunas are absolutely brutal cars. Anyone who I have ever known with one has had a nightmare with it. Absolutely brutal to drive, low quality in just about every aspect and very uncomfortable.

Question actually, I know some one with a 03 1.8 petrol with about 150k miles on the clock. several problems but it's ticken over now (albeit with various noises and rackets and a general sense of instability when driving.) How long do you guys reckon it will last? I don't reckon it'll get another 10k. Although it did have an engine rebuild at about 130k miles so that might keep it goin for a little bit.

Ex-Taxi, look at the wear of the gearstick and a big fuking patch on the rear of the front passanger seat from giving people thier change. Gaping hole in the dash from the meter. Blue tax holder, probably supplied from MD Motors Harolds X which has blue tax holder and the majority of thier sales is to taxi drivers.
