Great Car Wash

In the spirit of promoting good local service, I got my car washed on the dock road at the Topz filling station on the dock road - the one with the supermacs.

I had been walking past it first and I saw the lads there shammying a car after washing it. Seemed like a good job, so I gave my car a go.

My car was mank. Was having difficulty seeing through the side windows. Closing the boot meant a dirty hand.

Anyway, 7 euro for a prewash, power hose, and shammy. Better then the automatics I thought.

They also de-snowed some guys windscreen for him. He did nearly drive on top of them, so maybe they were trying to fend him off..

I have to get my hire car washed before I hand it back at the end of the month. Ive had the car for 4 months and have never washed it. It's bad. It's going to need a strong crew to get it done.

I'd recommend the lads behind the new Supermacs at the groody roundabout, 8 euro, spent ten minutes on it, spotless clean, even scrubbed the lamps and spotlights. Give you a card and stamp it. With 5 stamps you get a free wash, gave me two stamps cos I'm a likeable fellow.

I'm a tipper alright, as I've been in tipping jobs for a few years and know what it's like to get an extra euro or so on to the ould wage. Plus anyone who darkens my door gets a tip, Pizza, Indian or whatever.

The only issue I take with getting my car washed there is the state of the ground around it. You could bounce through some dirty puddles before you get off the forecourt.

I actually meant to put this thread up the other day. I'm very very picky when it comes to my cars and would always have washed my own until I was badly stuck one day and decided to give these lads the business.

They take extremely good care of it and even have the common sense to waterblade the car before shammying it and not shammy the windows! Every single time im there the scrub every bit of the alloys as well running the cloth in between each spoke. No rush jobs.

I appreciate the effort/heartache it takes to wash a black car CAKED with dirt so I give them €10 each time (once a week). Credit where it's due.
