What Is This Song!!!???

    Maybe some of you knowledgeable people can help,this is buggin the hell out of me!
    There's this 'uplifting' 'indie' sounding song that was all over the radio and especially TV -mostly as background music to ads/sports slots /forthcoming tv show ads etc .It was even on Strictly Come dancing last night (the wife watches it -not me - honest!)Id guess its a UK band but couldnt be sure .It sounds a BIT like Travis/James ,MAYBE Franz Ferdinand (but its not them!)
    Its a fairly slow ballad type song which Id bet will become a classic for obituary reports etc .It starts with a VERY distinctive strings intro which (yeah this should help!!!) goes Dum dum dah dah dum dum dah
    Dum dum dah dah dum dum dah

    I THINK there are lyrics like "And now I guess our time has come ,I thought the story had just begun ...."

    But Ive googled the heck out of those and cant find it
    It was all over the radio until recently although it may be an older song.Even Ronan Collins was playing it on his show on RTE Radio1 recently !!!

    Anyone, please???
