Hi guys, I just missed my train from Limerick to Dublin there because of my taxi and some bad timing on my part. Anyway it's done now but I am just curious is there any chance i can swap my ticket tomorrow. I asked one of the guys working but he said there was no 'ticket swapper' there (whatever that means).

Should I buy one anyway just in case?

I wouldn't travel from Limerick much but would you not wait until 2moro to buy it. That way, you can to talk with the people in charge at the time and see if they can do anything.

Normally, you can only get a refund on a ticket up to the last day of validity. I think, ask one of the staff on duty to write a note that you tried to, but couldn't, get a refund tonight and get there early tomorrow. Do not board the train with an expired ticket.

You should be able to book a train on the internet for 10-15 euro single if you travel either tomorrow morning or late in the evening.

I just would rather not get there tomorrow morning and be told the online tickets are sold out and have to pay €30? I'm being a worry-wart over missing the last one.

Well the fella working said that if I went up there tomorrow and brought my ticket it should be OK but I'll still ask and just tell them that.

Err, you're online while posting here, right ? Why not have a look at the website and see what fares are available tomorrow ? There are plenty of €15 fares and you can even get the 1255 with a change at Limerick Junction (as almost all the trains do) for €10 .

There's no way you're going to get a walk-up fare like that tomorrow, so why not cut your losses, book online and get a good nights sleep ?

Once you book 90 minutes ahead, you can travel on a train. Only one of the cheap trains has its online allocation booked out - you should be OK.

Amm yes, I know this all I was asking was it possible to swap the ticket like the federal security fella said and has anyone ever heard/done it. Thanks anyway, I think I will just book it to be on the safe side.
