    hey anyone know where and how much it cost to become a dealer i could prob get work easily enoough loads of games on around waterford etc .
    any help people or any dealers reading this id be willing to pay for training ,:)

    learning to spell the name would be a start. texas hold'em. :D

    apply for a job at a casino might help.
    you would probably need to know the rules already but you could contact people who run tournaments and see if they need dealers.

    yeah seems a good idea i know the rules and play just need to learn the proper shuffle.s etc ante/s rakes in cash games

    Learn how to do pot limit, and then test yourself repeatedly. You should know it's very difficult to become a dealer, yes some casino might have a training program but most dealers come from England and the rest of Europe where they actually have training schools. Plus the jobs are seriously in demand, do you think you could just walk into any job without training? Come on mate, you clearly don't even know the main game that well as you said ante, an ante in a cash game.

    The Vodoo Card Club regularly runs dealer training and they're free too.

    Have to admit its a great way to be thought properly. But of course its all about going out and getting experience. They can only show you how its done.

    Self-dealt games are great for this. If you get knocked out just turn around and say you'll then deal for the table. Dont deal and play at the start.

    And dont attempt dealing cash games until you have tourney dealing down. You're bound to make mistakes and trust me making mistakes when money is involved is a sure way to stir things.

    If you wanna learn right this second grab a deck of cards and search up on youtube. Even certain magic videos give tutorials on how to shuffle a deck quick and right.

    As a dealer myself the first thing I would say is learn to handle chips.

    Anyone can throw a card but a lot of dealers don't know how to handle chips correctly. Again, YouTube is your friend for that one.

    Practice picking up a heap of chips and getting a feel for 20. then cut them down into stacks of five with your index finger, not your thumb. Keep doing this until you have it nailed then move onto the actual pitching of the cards.

    It should be noted in pub poker the standard of dealing isnt high as Cereal Rapist can back me up on.

    If you wanted a job in a casino however you would need to be trained, or at least put right by someone who has. Casino standards of dealing is much much higher and for a reason.

    Clueless, chumptastic post.

    It's one thing to know how to the mechanics of dealing and a single set of rules.

    It's another thing to know different versions of rules and handle the issues not adequately covered in rules.

    But the biggest challenge in the job is dealing with people - a highly skilled aspect of the job with a learning process that never ends. I' love to see your chimps doing that.
