    Hi folks,

I am currently in search of a bicycle for my girlfriend for Christmas, but am hoping to get a particular one!

I am looking for a ladies mountain bike, (24 yr old average height) finished in Black and orange, or total black.

My plan is to get some stickers made for the bike which is why the colours are specific.

Any help from anyone would be very very much appreciated!

    Many thanks

    Paul

    So whats the budget like.....?

KTM make some lovely bikes and their 'corporate' colours are black and orange.....here's an example : http://www.ktm-bikes.at/de/mountain/sport/hardtail-alu/Chicago.php

    ....but they dont come cheap!

http://www.canyon.com/_en/mountainbikes/bike.html?b=2059 I reckon this one would be perfect for your needs (black but top tube has orange stripe). Although, again budget might be an issue.
What is your budget? And what's this bike going to be used for? (apart from holding stickers).
Also, you know you can get bikes powdercoated any colour you want? I think there's a company in tallaght that does it, roughly 100e I think, do a search on here and you should find some mention of them.

Lovely bike but pity it's so expensive.

My budget it about 3-400 max. Would be used for town / country cycling during the summer mainly. Would these guys powder coat in a week?

Anyone got a num for them?

    Many thanks

Yup, Altitude in Waterford stock some of them (including a really tasty road bike!) http://www.altitude.ie/

Well then you don't need a mountain bike do you? A hybrid/city bike of some description sounds more suitable. I haven't had any dealings with tallagh powdercoating myself, just remember someone mentioning them on here before so I don't know how long you would have to wait.

They're on the google though if you want to get in touch; http://www.tallaghtpowdercoating.ie/contact.php

I see your point but I think mountain bikes look nicer and offer a better all round option.

Mountain bikes are great for cycling off road.

A good skinny wheel bike is much more suitable for your purposes.

With the state of city centre roads I wouldn't cycle anything but a mountain bike tbh. Add to that the ability to hop a kerb/pothole/speedramp and go over a drain instead of veering around it into traffic.
    Greater maneuverability too imo.
Granted, once you start doing any distance, you're better off with a hybrid or roadie, but you can't beat an no-suspension mtb with fat slicks for nipping around town.
Just my opinion, before I get jumped on.

e2a: I do have a set of road cogs on mine though.
