Stalker: SoC or CoP first?

    Hi all,

I purchased the two Stalker games via Steam a few months ago and have finally found time to start one (just completed Bioshock 2 yesterday) - I know that SoC came out first, but I've heard it said that CoP might be an easier game to start with; is this true? I'm definitely happy to go with the easier one, as long as it doesn't overly mess up the storyline, etc...

Start with the first. It's a great game and the patches have fixed most of the bugs now. If you start with the third game you might not be able to go back to shadow of chernobyl because of the improvements in the third game. The games are definitely very tough until you get a scoped rifle.

    SoC, then CoP.

If you want to play CS, play it after SoC and before CoP.

I myself however, have decided to skip CS, after reading up some reviews on it.

Thanks for the reply - is CoP the third game? I'll defo start with the 1st one so and look for the patches needed to bring the playing experience up to scratch. I heard it was tough alright, should be fun though!

It is indeed, make sure to try and get the "good" ending, you'll know when you have that ending.

Oh, if you got it on STEAM, you already have it fully patched.

Play SOC, then play it again with the Oblivion Lost mod before COP.

They had the first one on sale with Games for Windows a couple of weeks ago and I started into it. Really enjoying the bleak nature of the game and the feeling that it really is just you out there and that any opportunity to work with people should be cherished unless you think you can take them all and loot them :D
