    Hi

total newbie here in the athletics forum...

ive just started running, around 3 months ago after being a lazy smoker for about 10 years, ive just finished the couch to 5k podcasts from robert ullary and they were great, music playing in the background and instructions for when to run, when to walk etc.. but what should i do next?

ill spend a couple of weeks working on the 5k runs but would like to extend this to 10k over the coming months. are there any other podcasts or iphone apps that you would recommend?

    thanks

If you look up about three posts you'll see
Are you new to running? Helpful guides and plans here

I don't know any podcasts that do the run/walk/run thing for longer distances than 5k, but as a general interest podcast to listen to while running, you could try Marathon Talk.

    Hiya whiteshadow,
A quick Google gave a few options this http://www.djsteveboy.com/intervals.html being one that might suit. Report back if it's any good or not.

As to general interest I'm a devotee of Phedippidations, the daddy of all running podcasts, though it might not be everyone's cup of tea.

I used chubbyjones podcasts for c25k and then missed it when I moved on from 5K. I used her 10K podcasts then, there are no intervals but they move on to 35/40/45-70 min runs. May not be to everybody's cup of tea but I enjoyed them and sometimes still use them. http://chubbyjones.libsyn.com/category/podcasts

    Well done on finishing C25K!:D
