DISTANT WORLDS: MUSIC FROM FINAL FANTASY

The Royal Albert Hall is proud to be the site of the gala premiere in London of Distant Worlds: music from Final Fantasy, the highly anticipated multimedia concert experience.

With composer Nobuo Uematsu and conductor Arnie Roth, The Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, and many special soloists including Susan Calloway from FFXIV, and with state of the art HD videos and stills shown on massive screens highlighting the games most memorable sequences, the Royal Albert Hall will swell with the award-winning music from the FINAL FANTASY video game series.

Featuring scenes from throughout the Final Fantasy series as well as music from the newly released Final Fantasy XIII and XIV, this is truly a concert not to be missed.

This sounds fantastic - have always wanted to check out an FF concert and now here's an opportunity. It's not taking place till November 2011 but im sure tickets will be snapped up quick.

Emailed them asking if they might take the tour to Dublin at the NCH. Saw Metropolis there in September last year, was brilliant with the orchestra.

Failing that it looks like I'll be handing over 250 nicker to see it in London. Can't miss this!

ARGH! The Albert Hall website won't accept my Visa card (even though there is nothing wrong with it!).

The tickets are nearly sold out, FECK!!!!!!!!!!!!

edit: And the Box Office closed 18 minutes ago. ARGH! Bet you by tomorrow morning those last seats will be gone.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,358 ✭✭✭seraphimvc

imagine if nobuo come dublin!! D: lets all send an email to them!

nearly sold out?!!! gonna get my ticket soon!!

edit: oh ffs, seriously??? sold out??? i really it is just a system error :(

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,328 ✭✭✭Pyongyang

Last night there was about 8 circle seats left. 6 if you count the two I was trying to buy.

All my attempts to buy tickets were in vein though as I was later informed I've to be somewhere else that day.

Shame. Truly upset I can't go to this. I've written to the NCH in the hopes they might bring the show to Dublin.

If enough of us write in you never know...

One of the lads booked 5 tickets yesterday around 1 o'clock in a spur of the moment trip away. We were warned of impaired viewing before booking but guess we're lucky to have even got tickets.

Weekend on the p1ss + a FF concert. Hmmm, doesn't add up much!?

Would a pre-concert Boardsie meetup be on the cards?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,139 ✭✭✭martineatworld

Going with a few lads from home, we're just too nerdy. Might have a spare ticket available if anyone's looking. That's a might!

I wouldn'tmind as long as it's close to the venue.

Concert was fantastic. They cut the first verse from Eyes on Me, and the main melody from Clash on the Big Bridge wasn't strong enough at all, and it didn't use enough brass. Actually, I wasn't mad about that arrangement at all on reflection, but overall this was a great event. Royal Albert Hall is a wonderful venue. Had goosebumps listening to Liberi Fatali at the start. I'll never listen to One Winged Angel again without thinking of Uematsu, the hero that he is.

    Concert was fantastic.

This. Dancing Mad and Maria and Draco were amazing too.

Arnie Roth said they were going to be back in the Royal Albert Hall next November, dunno about Uematsu though.

Just back from London. Was a great night alright. Only disappointment was Eyes on Me; it was a great performance of a terrible song.

Dancing Mad was the highlight for me. Was hoping they would play it but wasn't expecting it. Much better than One Winged Angel. My girlfriend took a few videos.

He was. He came on stage a few times, at the start and at the end, when he sang with the choir for One Winged Angel.

But there's no guarantee that he'll go on tour with Arnie Roth next year.

Was there as well. Had a great night.

Arnie said they'd be back in London Nov 17th next year and as it's 25th anniversary of FF they would get Nobuo to do something special.
So expect to see him there :-)

One Winged Angel was a great finish. Will hope to go back next year again ^^v

Excuse me, you are correct. So yeah, Uematsu will return!

I was a bit disappointed by the merchandise, it was just t-shirts, CDs and a DVD. I would've been quite tempted by a plush Moogle.

I would so love to go there!
I've seen Final Fantasy in concert in Germany in the course of the Games Convention there and it was incredible.
Hope everyone had fun who was there! :D
