Mobile repair after insurance claim

    Hi everyone,
    I just found out my brother broke the screen in this nokia 5800 about half a year ago and got a new phone under his insurance. the thing is I can repair it for 60 euros but if I do that and start using it would this get him into trouble?? as in are vodafone insurance going to realise this phone going back on the network by it's IEM etc.. anyone any idea's

    They didnt request the old phone back? i thought that was the standard practice
