I just need to know how difficult it is, and are there any special tools needed. I haven't done it before, but I usually get on ok with working on the vehicles. Thanks.

No fancy tools required, just watch out for the wear indicator, the plug for it is on the shock in a plastic housing, just open that up and pop her out. Its straight forward to do brakes on this.

Fom memory you'll need a 7mm Allen to open up the callipers bolts.

Don't waste your time with an Allen key, get an Allen socket and use a 1/2 or 3/8" drive on it...

nice one guys. I'm gonna give it a lash tomorrow if the snow keeps off. I seen on a youtube vid about disconnecting the wear indicator that you mentioned.
