If a girl calls you 'buddy' does that mean she sees you as only a friend...like "how ye doin buddy" or "good night buddy"? I met a girl at a football match not so long ago and she got my number from her friend who knew me from college, we're both 19 and at the start it seemed like she may like me by some of the things she was saying. She sends me winks in messages and stuff but this buddy thing has me confused. She does seem the type that would use this talk regularly like a tom boy(going to football). I'm going to be in a couple of lectures with her in January and I'm afraid if I come out and say I like her and she doesn't feel the same it would be awkward and ruin a friendship. So basically does buddy mean you're in the friend zone?

    I would say friend zone.
A lot of girls I went to school with would call me sham or mate because its just one of those words that people use to be friendly.
As for the winks in messages, depending on what they were and what they were attached to they might mean something or they might mean nothing more than her attempt to add a minor inflection that sometimes gets missed in writing. Dont read into them too much unless its something so obvious that a blind mans seeing eye dog could pick up on

Who the hell says buddy? :D

Does she call everyone buddy or just you? You can't read anything at all into it, unless she's specifically saying it to reinforce the fact you're in the friend zone.

Well she's living in Dublin all her life, I'm a Cork man myself hence why I'm confused but I don't know whether all Dublin girls talk like that or I'm been sent subtle messages.
