Cruiserweight kicked all this off last year (thread here) so thought I'd continue the tradition :) I'll use the same categories with a couple of new ones thrown in, but I don't mind if anyone wants to suggest one as well. Polls are open from right now until Christmas Eve, with the winners announced the following day.

I should say as well this is only a bit of fun, so don't get worked up if someone thinks you're a biased little fecker! There's no actual awards for winning one of them either, I promise me becoming a mod straight after winning best poster last year was only a coincidence :P

So without further ado, the categories are:

    Best Poster:

    Best Newcomer:

    Most Biased Poster:

Most likely to be banned in 2011:

Poster that left us too early:

    Thread of the Year:

    Post of the Year:

    Services to GAA:

    Media Moment of the Year:

I'll get us started, will come back to some of them.

Best Poster: So many to choose from, but I'm gonna go with flahavaj. Honourable mentions to Clareman, ShamoBuc and homerjay2005

    Best Newcomer:

    Most Biased Poster: zinx

Most likely to be banned in 2011: Orizio. 2nd time lucky eh? ;)

Poster that left us too early: Premierstone hasn't posted since April which is a great shame, so he gets my vote.

Thread of the Year: No doubt about it, Waterford GAA Team News/Discussion. Great insightful posters who'll always keep you up-to-date on all the deise goings-on. Haven't missed UpTheDeise a single bit because of it.

Post of the Year: Am sure there's been tons of great posts lost in match-threads and the like, but killbillvo2's input after we won Munster is one that stands out for me.

Services to GAA: Deise Tom, with honourable mentions to rebel girl 15 and Blackbelt.

Media Moment of the Year: Michael O'Muircheartaigh's send-off on the Late Late Show in September. A fitting-tribute to an all-time GAA legend.

    Funniest Moment of the Year:

    Best Poster: Clareman

    Best Newcomer: hardybuck

    Most Biased Poster: dcr22b

Most likely to be banned in 2011: The teenage hormones of soccymonster or deisegirl will get the better of them and they will lash out at someone who badmouths Joe Canning

Poster that left us too early: Premierstone

Thread of the Year: Waterford GAA Team News/Discussion. I don't venture out of it too often. Its like a cosy pair of slippers

Post of the Year: deise girl's post on Tony Brownes performance in the Munster final replay comes to mind. Summed up my thoughts perfectly
"Lads Tony Browne. Tony fucking Browne."

    Services to GAA: Deise Tom

Media Moment of the Year: TG4's laochra gaol rivalry series was very good i thought. In particular i love the Cork Waterford episode

Funniest Moment of the Year: Orizio drunkenly posting about how Cork would win the double very early in the year. In fairness he got one out of the two right

    Best Poster:

    Best Newcomer: hardybuck

Most Biased Poster: Too many to mention, but this is the great thing about the GAA, EVERYONE is biased, if you loose the ref's a ****, if you win he had a great game. You are allowed say whatever you want about your own players, but once someone from outside says anything about them, you turn on them :)

Most likely to be banned in 2011: No-one, we'll finish with a full compliment of players :)

Poster that left us too early: Premierstone

Thread of the Year: I'm not voting for a Waterford thread :D Seriously though, the threads at the top (So Your Too.... and Promote a Club) are the best threads imvho, 1 of the weaknesses in the GAA is getting adults involved in the game. I also really enjoy the picture thread

Post of the Year: Everyone of them :)

    Services to GAA: Deise Tom

Media Moment of the Year: Micheal's retirement

Funniest Moment of the Year: Drunken moments FTW

I take that as a supreme compliment given the vehement anti-Dub bias that is prevalent on this forum.

It's intriguing that somebody who I don't recall ever having an argument on a thread has voted for me thus.

I'm screwed when Orizio, Lemlin and all the other Dub haters start voting :p

Best Poster: All the Dubs posters naturally

Best Newcomer: Can't say I've taken any notice

Most Biased Poster: Given our beautiful relationship, Orizio for the fact that his red rimmed glasses are as one dimensional as my blue ones

Most likely to be banned in 2011: No-one, we'll finish with a full compliment of players

Poster that left us too early: Premierstone

Thread of the Year: The Dublin - Tyrone thread (made for great reading at the shock of all the ABD's as we finally put years of hurt behind us).

Post of the Year: Cannot believe Dublin will win this. Thought the Down-Kerry game was a more likely shock this morning!

Looks like Liam McCarthy is coming back to Cork anyway
A GymJim gem, what are you doing on a GAA forum if you can't tell the difference between Liam and Sam?

To be honest i couldnt think of anyone so i gave it to you for the recent Dublin Tyrone thread. Nothing wrong for standing up for your own county

    Ladies and Gents,

Thanks for the nominations and award. I was one who came over from Upthedeise and I've looked back.

The Waterford megathread is full of great posters and gets input from around the country. Added to that there is a consistent level of insight and quality across the forum which you won't get anywhere else.

I've no doubt that we'll have plenty of cause for debate and discussion in 2011.

    Regards,

    hardybuck

This should be done at the end of the Championship in future when the forum has more traffic IMO.

You're probably right yeah. It only struck me to do one when I saw the soccer forum had there's around now as well, but obviously they won't have any hassle getting the votes in.

Remind me again in 9 months :P
