Pre 1980 I think it is now.

No, it's 30 yrs for tax.

Pre 1980 thing is the NCT thing: post Jan 1 1980, you have to NCT it every 12 month's.

This is my understanding of it, btw.

You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

just had a look at motortax.ie now: they seem to have changed the page. Unless I'm losing my mind, the rates pages (pdf's) are gone, and it's asking you to input a reg no.

I wouldn't be volunteering too much to a database like that.........red flag's and all that....

....shades of too-many-enquiries on a given model on the VRT site making it go up......you know the mentality....

    ..tread carefully.......

That's true: you know what they say: just 'cos you're paranoid doesn't mean they're NOT out to get you ! :D

Agreed with the screen 'roadbloack' :D

We used to have about 11 stickies here and the roadblock is the reason why we only have one* with a lot of info and links in the first post :)

*Plus the for sale / wanted / swap sticky that is...

yes 1981 cars get the 50 quid tax. but just wait 2 more weeks before you try it.

strictly it is 30 years old not 1st Jan...you MAY get away with it (I did once) but you may have to wait for the car to be thirty years old from date of reg...

Choose the second option of looking it up under RATES BY BASIS OF ASSESSMENT ;)

Alternative, if you use the pdf link in the charter, the page is still on the server...:pac:
