I was on the Aer Lingus flight from Malaga yesterday, and got a few photos with the phone of arriving into Terminal 2. Thought you might like to see them :

Its a really nice easy journey from plane to landside, and lots of DAA staff on hand to show people where to go.

Looks really well. My question is how do you go from terminal two to terminal 1 or vice versa? Do you have to exit one terminal and go into the other or is there some sort of walkway?

There's an airside link between the 2 terminals that only takes a few minutes to walk. There's also a landside link between the 2 terminals.

Theres a walkway. But I didn't use that, as I was running for the bus.

Ok thanks for clearing that up. Any faults or something you didn't like about it?

No - I loved it, and it was really fast and easy to get out (unlike the old Pier D where you have to walk for miles after getting off the plane).

So from a passengers perspective its brilliant.

Indeed. The media have publicised a few complaints about the layout of the new terminal but the DAA have stated that it was designed to make the arriving experience very smooth.
The Indo had a speculative article on Tuesday/Wednesday. A photo guy took 3-4 pics of the empty check-in area. Thus the Indo can claim the T2 is a ghost town. Shame they didn't visit at the check-in time for the Eithiad flight. And no mention that EI are still checking in at T1 then being brought to T2 by staff.

It is a bit frustrating though to be driven past a deserted T2 and walk into a packed T1. hopefully more flights will get moved in the new year.

The 11th of January is tentatively being mentioned for a bigger ramp up of EI ops at T2. Should start to see a lot more flights added to the existing 5 EI a day that currently use T2.
