    Hi,

I brought my car to the VRT centre today to clear it. The car is a 2004 Mazda 6 TS2, 2.0 petrol with emmisionson log book of 192.

I got a price on the vrt calculator for the model - a 4 door saloon which stated the emmisions as being 166 which is different than my log book. In the centre they could only find a TS2 as a 5 door hatch and the emmissions didnt match the log book.

They have referred it to Rosslare to get a code for a 4 door saloon of this model. The TS2 is sold in the UK but not Ireland.

Anyone any idea if this is common or how long it will take to sort? I really want the car cleared before xmas.

    Thanks in advance!

thanks for that, already think its going to be €300 more than the revenue calculator because the are insisting on using the emmisions stated on the log book.

Of course they will use the figure from the Log book. How could it be any other way?

Its the oficial figure, i would imagine it should be done by the log book.

Don't get me wrong, am not complaining, o just budgetted using the vrt calculator & that was over €300 out. Lesson learned

Just for next time, you can input the CO2 figure from the V5 into the VRT calculator and it'll give you an accurate figure.

They'll ring you and tell you what the VRT is. It didn't take too long for me. Same day they called me.

    Chauffe, Marcel, chauffe!

You entered in 1998 for engine capacity. That's incorrect. It should have been 1999. With the correct details, the CO2 emission correctly shows as 192g/km thus 32% VRT ;)
