I am getting an new mp3 player and want to know whats best, i have had an older ipod and i have had an archos, i like the size of the ipod but there is no fm radio, can i download an app and listen to 2fm etc without needing to be in a wifi hotspot. any help would be appreciated,

No its probably the worst thing about it, you need wifi
