When you least expect it?

Is this a complete BS statement? Should a man be prepared/preparing to meet the woman he is going to share his life with?

Where should a man be before he thinks about being ready to settle down? Mentally, physically, spiritually. What are the things that make a woman say, "Ya this guy has got his act together"?

Thought we might be able to start a discussion on this? We might get some interesting opinions and collectively learn from it?

I believe the best time to meet someone is when you least expect it.

The trick is to live your life in a way that makes you proud of yourself. Concentrate on growing mentally, physically, whatever... as best you can and the rest of life fits into place around you quite often.

I for example met the girls I am with by organising pre concert meetups for bands I like. I was into the music and I liked meeting people for drinks and chat before the concert, and then you go from there to the concert together. Of all the people I met I got closer and closer to some and it went from there.

If all you are doing with life is trying to meet someone, a lot of life can pass you by. This comes across by leaving you with less confidence, less to talk about and so on.

I think a lot of people tend to view relationships as a goal and I honestly think thats the wrong way to approach things. The aim in life is to make yourself as happy as possible and if you find friends or a girl that help you do that, then great. Making yourself miserable because you aren't in a relationship is completely counterproductive.

Personally I went through a lot of this myself, convincing myself that I was missing out on life and doomed to unhappiness because I didn't have a girlfriend. Ironically this line of thinking probably does more to keep you alone and unhappy than anything else.

Of course I'm terminally single, so maybe my opinion shouldn't count for much.
