    Hi all,

I'm renovating an old cottage in East Cork at the moment. The phone line which has not been active for about 5 years runs from the eircom pole to the front side of house. I would like to have the line running underground into the house when I look for a new connection. However, from what I can make out I have to pay eircom €300 just for survey for them to do this. Am i correct? Are they any other alternatives?

    Thanks in advance

    Gunner,
Talk to your own local Eircom Rep;);), one of the techs in the van, and he will be able to sort this out. I did this myself marh just gone, very similar situation, and the eircom man came out on his dinner hour and sorted the issue for me for €60.
All he asked for me to have done was underground duct to point of entry and the old line dismantled from the house.

The €300 is for survey only, NOT the final cost. They could not give that to me until job finished. Madness. Open cheque book job really

    Thanks Rayjdav,

That would be ideal for my situation. I don't know of any eircom guy in the area but i'll ask around

    Thanks again.
