    hi,

stupidly let my father try to install a new heating timer (apt IMM24) while i was at work. came home to no heating. unfortunately my father made no note of how the previous timer was wired. i tired my electrician but no answer as it's after hours. i don't want to touch it unless i know where the correct wires go (don't want to blow anything up).

    there are 4 brown wires
    3 blue wires & 1 black wire

    timer holes are labelled 1, 2, 3
    i have attached a photo

can anyone help otherwise i will be without heating until tomorrow

    thanks

I'm reluctant to comment because I don't want to be wrong but I think theres only 3 wires needed for that clock, the L N and E. Actually it might be 4, Live in, Life out, N & E. It should tell you on the clock where they go. As for what wires do what there.. god knows. The browns *should* all be lives (but why theres so many I dunno) and the blues neutrals, all the earths are together which is ok, the black *should* be a neutral but I expect it might be the live out. Its impossible to tell anything from this pic, you need to check yourself where the wires are going to or coming from. Whats the switch at the side and below do? Is there motorised valves/room stats?

Perhaps posting in the electrical forum would be better...

too dangerous to mess with, you need a sparks to sort it methinks!

impossible to be sure what is what on the photo, be safe!
