    Went in with in intention of picking up a tv(post 29).


    €479 Yesterday and on their website. But now that there was a 10% sale the price had gone up to €519.

    Not impressed at all at all.

    phone or write to them, tell them its illegal what they did and see if they can do a deal with you

    EDIT: looking at the site it says 479€. was it 519€ in the shop?

    the director is 169 at cheapest in harvey norman tonight. but they said they would match any price in any shops in ireland

    Got one last week. Printed out the page and got it for €470 in Currys... after some haggling and arguing!!

    Harvey Norman Departments are franchises as far as I am aware.
    So the furniture part of the store is not related to the electrical part either in that store or any store for that fact.
    They don't have the same offers on in all stores unless they are actually printed on flyers or the like.

    I'm not sure how that would work. They say their best price is always in store so if they advertise something on the website for €100, then by definition you should be able to get it for less in any store. The poster said it was €479 0n the website and €519 in store, in all probability he would have got it for €479 or less if he'd haggled but it smacks of sharp practice to me.

    I don't think they are franchised, but are very odd, as their computer systems don't link at all to their other stores, even the ones close together.
