I want to find somewhere with a good recommendation for my cat over Christmas. I'm a bit worried it might be too late but I have a backup plan if I can't get him in anywhere. I'm near Hospital but I don't mind travelling if the place is decent.

    Thanks in advance! ^^

Nowhere near you, unfortunately, but Perfect Paws outside Newcastlewest (family run) takes cats and dogs. Have used them briefly, reasonably priced and good service. Haven't got the tel no to hand, but I'm sure you'll find them online or in directory. Hope you manage to find somewhere nearer!

I second Perfect Paws on the Ardagh road outside Newcastle West. She is absolutely fantastic with my dogs and cat. The accomodation for cats is beautiful, plenty of space to climb and hide. She walks the dogs every day and gives each cat attention and plays with them, etc.

    Hi Pye,

Weve been leaving our moggie @ Alpha Dog Care Centre & Catterie, Oakfield, Killaloe Rd, Clonlara (Near Limerick) Co. Limerick.
its a couple of miles outside Corbally...
Marie is fantastic and really takes care of your pet...

    Theres also
Jockeyhall Boarding Kennels & Cattery. Jockey Hall Crecora Co. Limerick
I've never used them but Ive heard good reports also.

    Regards

    MIke

Jockey Hall in Crecora I found very good.
I dont remember what the prices were at the time
but I was surprised the prices were good and not expensive,
and they even fed the cat with the food of my choice and gave me back food I had left for the cat.

Friend of mine takes her cat to Jockey Hall and is very happy. Cat always comes home in good form, not stressed at all from being away. Had the opposite experience at Alpha.

There is also a cattery in Abbeyfeale which is supposed to be wonderful:

My friend takes her dog there so has met the people and seen the facilities, she says it's fab.

We used to take our animals to Abbeyfeale boarding kennels, but we found that they weren't very flexible with dropping off and pick-ups. Plus they are in a fairly remote location.
