    Hery folks,

I was hoping to assemble some sort of garish Christmas jumper monstrosity, and wanted to get a small set of Christmas lights with a battery pack that I could attempt to sew onto it. Does anyone have any idea where in Dublin I might find such an item?

Lessons on how to sew are also appreciated..

Drop into a Dunnes. They have battery powered christmas lights in my local one (which is tiny) so I'm assuming they'll be in nearly all the stores.

LOL, I'm not the person to ask about sewing but if it were me (and I'm guessing the jumper is pretty much going to be made redundant after use!) I'd poke small holes where you want the lights and just use a bog standard stitch, that anyone can do, on each side of the bulb to keep it in place. That way the wires are on the inside and the person can stick the little battery pack into their pocket.

Now you just have to post a pic of the finished result!!! :D

Thanks neely, I'll see how I get on. If I manage to assemble any sort of acceptable garment, I'll put a picture up.

In the same boat as yourself OP, hoping to bring my already ridiculous Christmas jumper to a whole other level.

Went to the €2 shop today and bought a pack of fairy lights... came home, pulled apart the plug, was planning on wiring it up to a €2 shop torch and use it's on-off switch and battery pack. Wired it up... no light. Cut the chain down to 5 lights... no light. 1 light.... very very dim light! Couldn't figure it out for a while then it dawned on me - they were meant for AC current, the battery is DC.

So went looking in town again and dropped into Pennys to see if they had anything battery powered and found these for €2.50! Perfect! :D

Now just need to fit into my jumper, will report back with photo!

That looks great joe, exactly what I had in mind.

This is my task for today once I get the shopping out of the way.
