iPhone 4 Data Tariff

    Hi All

I'm entitled to an upgrade & I'm tempted to upgrade to iPhone4 from my current iPhone 3gs. At the moment my current contract has me on the unlimited data tariff (3GB effective).

I called O2 yesterday after checking the iPhone 4 tariffs. They told me my average data usage at present is about 2GB per month. The problem is the biggest data allowance on the iphone4 is 1GB. I ask her if there is any add on I can pay for extra data, she says no.

It does not make sense for me to upgrade now on O2 for less data allowance than my current contract.

Anyone out there got any help for me.

I have checked some competitors and 3 mobile offer 2GB as standard on their Iphone 4's

    It looks tempting

I upgraded to the iPhone 4 and was allowed stick on the unlimited data tariff I was on with O2. I had to sign a new contract but no tariff change.

How long ago was your upgrade?. O2 were doing an offer when it was first released but they have since stopped that.
I will call them today and see what they can do for me.
It makes no sense for me to upgrade to iPhone4 with a lower data allowence.
I could buy one sim free from apple but its a bit pricey :P

Friend of mine updated last week on the 40 quid package. Had to sign away unlimited data and now has 500meg a month.

More fool him if you ask me.

Yeah thats what I was told on the phone yesterday .

O2 Customer Care: Of course you can upgrade to our 500mb data package.

Me: Why would I upgrade to something that is worse than my current package :P

    O2 Customer Care : :o

Depends on the usage. if he's under the 500mb each month its not a big issue

Fair point, but he is now getting a worse pack for the same money. That's what I think is a mistake.
