Studying in New Zealand

Just found out I'm hopefully gonna be able to study this year, part time, towards a degree, with Weltec.

Just wondering if anyone has any experiences with studying here that they'd like to share. How did student loans, allowance, WINZ, study in general go? I'll probably be doing part time stuff that only requires about 5 classes per module, which will be full day things. Be through Weltec, at their Christchurch branch.

Just trying to research it all at the moment, and would be really keen to hear anyone's experience at all with tertiary education here :)
