Delighted to see handball back on the screens.

I'm old enough to remember the excellent Top Ace programme of the late 70's and I'm a firm believer in getting any publicity anywhere in order to promote your sport.

It's time for this superb game to come out of the doldrums in the perception of the public.

About 15 years ago I would have agreed with you, at that stage the only handball I had seen was a quick bit on Sports Stadium introduced by Mick Dunne, seemed very boring with nothing to see, then a friend of mine's friend was in the All Ireland series and I went to Croke Park to see the finals, I was able to witness for the first time the fastest, most intense of all Gaelic sports, I would say that the skill & fitness levels required for those players is a lot higher than any intercounty hurler or footballer.

Hopefully this program will this to the fore on television and open it up to a whole new audience

    Ignorance is bliss.

While Corcaighabu92's answer does indeed smack of ignorance, it has to be said that the brilliance of handball often doesn't translate onto the TV screen.

One of the main problems was not being able to see the ball, but hopefully with better technology now that may be eliminated.

My big worry though, would be too much talk and not enough action. As long as they show plenty of games, rather than small clips followed by longer interviews with players/administrators it could benefit the game enormously.
