I think the Provisional License went the way of the dinosaur a couple of years ago when the last of the PLs expired, but if you had one of these you have 5 years from expiry to get a Learner Permit but you have to do the theory test first.

If you have undergone a driving test within 2 years prior to applying or you can show you have driving test date (not just an application) you can renew your Learner Permit. For the former they will issue a 2 yr Learner Permit but if the latter you will get a 1yr Learner Permit.

You can renew your licence at your local tax office. Renewal forms can also be found at test centres, most libraries and Garda stations. You do not need to redo your eye exam.

Just realised mine is out of date since Dec 09!!! HAve not been driving since then anyways but I need to get back on the rd.

AM I too late to renew it (13 mths out of date)

If not where is the motor tax office in Dublin as living here now

And lastly can I have my details in Irish even though the original was in English!

    Sorry about the thread hijack,

You can still renew and change your detail in Ballymun, Clondalkin, Rathfarnam or Smithfield.
