Driving to the UK and staying there for 1 month - TAX?

I'm heading to the UK for the month of March, but am not sure about the tax situation over there.

Do I have to pay road tax for the month I am there?

My insurance will cover me, so it's just the tax I'm wondering about.

No. You cant tax a car somewhere its not registered.

Either way , your only over there visiting and I assume your car is taxed here anyway?

Your only worry should be paying the daily congestion charge if driving through certain areas of London.

you've nothing to worry about. it's just a holiday. as long as your insurance is good then you're fine.

Just check with your insurer that you are entitled to have it abroad for a whole month (is that 28, 30 or 31 days?) and what happens after that. Bring a photocopy of your policy.

Basically, once your car is road legal according to land of registration you are road legal to drive as a visitor anywhere in the EU. So make sure your tax, insurance and NCT (if applies) are valid and will not expire while you're away.

Third party cover is not limited, whenever he goes.
Only fire, theft, or own car damage cover might be limited while traveling abroad.

So it pretty much means, no matter what his policy says, he is road legal in UK no matter how long he stays there, as long he would be road legal in Ireland.'
