    Hi there

our house is 18 yrs old - 4 bed detached bungalow and our "DIY" insulation is a joke. finally talked OH around to even looking at getting this done & can see grant €2,500 is available - but what would attic & cavity wall insulation cost us (ball-park) ???

    any help would be appreciated.

penny finally dropped with himself when i pointed out to him that our house was first without snow on the roof on our road during the cold spell. our neighbours even still have pockets of ice on their roofs which just goes to show that we have been heating up our garden.

IF your going Pumping the cavity and upgrading your attic insulation the Grant is €650 not €2500, average cost for a bungalow is €1000-1200 before the grant so well worth doing. There a plenty companys out there now who will give free quotes and advise try get a least 3 quotes. Here is a link to some grant info. http://www.seai.ie/Grants/Home_Energy_Saving_Scheme/homeowner/

The grant of €2,500 is for Internal drylining this can cost up to €10,000 to get done. If your wall is cavity construction and suitable it is more viable to pump it rather than Dryline.
