BES - Capital Loss

I invested in a company through the BES scheme a couple of years ago and the company involved has closed down so the investment is gone. I am looking to find out if I can claim a capital loss on any part of the investment. I presume it is not possible with respect to the 41% relief that I received but if anyone can advise on the balance I would appreciate it.

    There's no relief available.

If you had bought AIB shares for €10,000 and sold them today for €100 then you would have a CGT loss of €9,900 which would be worth €2,475 when set against a gain.

So in your case you have bought shares for (say) €10,000, on which you have already had tax relief of €4,100. You won't get a 2nd bite!
