Short-term Car Insurance

    Hello,

I recently let my car insurance expire as I wasn't using my car much and could not justify the cost. However, I now require car insurance for approximately 1 month to get me over the Christmas period. Therefore my question is:

Can I get short term car insurance in the Republic?

If so, which insurance companies can provide this?

    Kind regards

This same question seems to recur again and again.

I could never get it when looking so unless things have changed recently.....

Thanks, I'll read previous posts on this topic.

I've just been ringing around and searching via the web with no success so I'm coming to to the conclusion it doesn't exist.

I thought at least one insurer would take advantage of what should be a large market.

I'll take the poxy bus so.

Can some one not get 12 month insurance that you pay monthly but cancel it with the insurance in Janurary?

I would imagine there could be some sort of penalty in place for not fulfilling some payment conditions. It'd probably be in the small print that the 12 months must be fulfilled.
