What are your predictions for Irish Fighters in 2011?
Will Casey still be European Champ or will he move on to bigger things?
Will Andy Lee, Mathew Macklin or John Duddy get a world title shot or will they fight each other?
    Any other predictions?

Personally I think Macklin will get a tilte fight but loose, he was shown up in the last fight. If he was sick he should not have stepped in the ring.

I think Lee will fight either Macklin or Duddy and win. Potentially Duddy for vacant European Belt if Macklin relinquishes it for World title shot.

I think Casey is better than people are giving him credit for. I think he will beat Kiko Martinez this year. It is too early for a world title fight, but I think he will be a chamo in 2012.

Murray was disappointing last time out, Ormond and Hyland haven't been tested yet. Would like to see Murray V Ormond

Great read - i had commented on past threads that he was actually fighting one handed in some fights and assumed it was an ongoing injury

Brian Magee to take Lucien Bute's title

I don't see any Irish fighters winning world titles in 2011. The best hope would be Magee to beat Sartison (even though it's not a real world title) but it appears he will now be fighting Bute instead, who will destroy him.

I'd give Macklin a slight chance to beat Sylvester but not Sturm. Also, Pirog would obliterate him and Martinez would box his ears off. Pretty much the same goes for Lee.

As for Casey, he shouldn't be thinking anything near a world title or a fight with Rigondeaux. He should definitely get more rounds under his belt and get in with a few people who will be able to take his punches (important part of the learning curve). He should fight Martinez this year and if he could win that and get a few more Ws, then they can start potentially looking at world titles in 2012.

True, but I get the impression Casey doesn't want to stay in the game for long. I think he should take his shot at Rigo, and if he loses, at least he lost to a quality fighter.

If one thing is for sure we will see our Irish fighters in many entertaining battles!

Looking forward to see the hylands doing well! Andy murray winning european title!
Paul McCloskey keeping his belt and more! Seeing more of jamie moore!

Our amateurs maintaing their excellent form and maintain their dominance in europe!

I think there is a very good chance of Lee fighting Duddy and Vera. Both fights I expect Lee to win.

I reckon Macklin will fight Barker and if he does manage to get a fight with Pirog, he will lose.

Duddy's career is done. He hasn't a hope of getting a world title shot anymore.

If Casey fights Rigondeaux, I think he'll be dominated. If he fights Kiko, I think he'll beat him in a real barnstormer war.

I think Andy Murray might get a shot at the European title, if John Murray vacates to fight for a world title. Depending on who he faces, he could have a decent chance of being EBU champion at the end of the year with a bit of luck.

Brian Magee will be KO'd by Bute when they fight imo. Maybe he'll fight for European title he relinquished at the end of 2011. Paul Smith perhaps? James De Gale?

Carl Frampton will make some noise by beating some solid British fighters. Maybe Pickering or someone and be ready to fight Quigg/Munroe/Booth at the start of 2012.

Paul McCloskey will probably have another year without getting a title shot. He brings nothing to the table so would be very difficult to get a shot at the winner of Bradley/Alexander or Khan.

I think its a silly statement to compare Ormond with Hyland as not been tested yet both Hyland and Murray have had over 20 fights each whereas Stephen Ormond has only fought 8 times and his next fight could be for a Commonwealth Title so i dont think he will have as cushy a ride as the other two.

I didn't compare them, I just said they haven't been tested yet.
