    Is there such a thing as luck?

    I ask because I'm in desperate need of some good luck.

    Sunday night I was burgled, they robbed 400 quid that I had just sorted out from my change jar from the year to pay bills, my iPod and some christmas presents.

    Then on the way into work I got a puncture on my scooter so had to abandon it half way.

    Got into work and was told that I wasnt getting paid some of my wages due to a cock up in HR (I work on-call and that portion isnt being paid untill next month now + extra tax's)

    Then on the way home from work I slipped on the last patch of ice in dublin and bolloxed up my arm.

    That was just monday.

    yesterday my GF suffered a flair up of a chronic illness she has which necessitated a day of playing nurse.

    So any chance of some good luck?

    Every cloud has a............Jaysus you've been through the mills eh?

    But life has peaks and troughs. You just gotta take the bad with the good. I mean if sh!t didn't happen to us we wouldn't appreciate the good stuff!

    lock yerself in your home - freshly bubble wrapped rooms where possible - and have on your person at all times the following items: a large tub of salt (for throwing over your shoulder at various intervals), a rabbit foot and a mirror to talk to (be careful with this one and only say nice things to it).

    Not only is there luck, there's also a Luck value [LaTeX]S_L[/LaTeX], that is the weighted sum of the values of events that have occurred [LaTeX]s_i[/LaTeX]. Those values are related to their respective probabilities and a relevant qualitative factor.

    And I'm probably going to edit this as it's likely AH doesn't allow LaTeX.
