    Hi Lads,

If this has been mentioned before feel free to direct me to the thread.

So I downloaded a game last night, Rocket Bunnies, It was about 9.4 MB, Pretty hefty. It downloaded straight to the memory card but once it finished installing I got the your internal memory is running low. So after some checking i realized that the app had taking the same amount of memory off the sd card and internal memory. Does this sound like a fault in my phone or have other people come across this?

check in Settings / Applications that the app is installed on the SD Card.

I have never noticed this but the first time I did get the low memory warning I figured out how to Root my phone and install custom ROMs that have A2SD+ which moves everything to the memory card. I would highly recommend it. Its a little nerdy but totally worth it.

Yeah, going to have to find a how to to root my desire. Apparently a good proportion of stuff I want doesn't install to the SD.

Its remarkably easy now (especially compared to the old G1 days :( )
Take a look at Unrevoked which gives a pretty simple step by step and is mostly automated

The alternative to A2SD or A2SD+ would be just to use the setInstallLocation hack/trick. It's a bit complex but still easier than rooting and definitely won't screw up your warranty.

Follow the following guide step by step:
    Link to Androinica

This probably won't fix the issue with that game taking up so much space, but it will allow you to move almost all your other apps to SD. Just don't move apps with widgets or live wallpapers.

Otherwise, the A2SD and rooting mentioned is doable also. Search google for unrevoked3. This will root the phone. Google will also tell you how to install A2SD

    Thanks for the replies lads,

I don't have much interest in rooting my phone, I'm happy with the way it works.

I was just curious why the game was installed on my sd card and was still taking the full space off my internal memory also.
