    Hi,

I am looking at changing my broadband provider and also at using a VOIP phone as we very rarely use our landline.

I am wondering what the range of costs will be for people to ring the number from standard landline and mobile providers?

This is a newbie question I know but have found it hard to find the detail on eircom, voda, or 02 sites?

Also what do people think of the various VOIP providers?

    Cheers,

I use Blueface and ported my old Eircom number and so all calls to it are the same cost as calling any geographical number. If you just have an 076 standard voip number the calls to it are usually higher.

Unless you are going to change to a cable, satellite or fixed wireless provider you will still need a land line.

Calls to 076 numbers from landlines and an Eircom account are not included within any of the offered "Plans" ...... so the cost of the call is whatever the Eircom rate is for calls outside of a plan.

I don't know about the other providers ..... but most all have a price list on line which will give details to 076 numbers if you intend to use such a number.

Eircom charge 5.17c per minute peak for calls to 076 numbers
