Folks- I'm considering purchasing a site with planning permission. The garden would be south facing but surrounded by forestry . What type of professional should I be asking about the amount of light the garden/house will get? Engineer or architect ?

if your adventurous you can use google sketch up (free) and draw in your garden and trees, and then work out some sun paths for different times of the year.
