yeah make sure you assign seperate ip addresses to each console
shammy has the same problem running both of his at the same time too

its funny im at the very moment trying to get this going myself :)

Good news i got the xbox going, I found out that my ip address in the console was automatic so that hindered my plans but its corrected now

this helped me with the xbox version

if anyone has a vid about the ps3 version I would really appreciate it

Your not going to be on both consoles at the same time(or are you:p) so go into your network settings on live , take down ip addy etc etc and copy them to the ps3 . that what i did and they are both open.

yeah looks like your port forwarding try port triggering it opens the ports in general for any device connected to the network irregardless of the ip address

You can't port foward port 80 twice, thats what you are trying to do.

    Line 1 - xbox1, your port forwarding tcp/79-81
    Line 9 - ps5, your port forwarding tcp/80

    thanks for the reply Enigma

I was talking to linksys live help there and they told me to do the below

    port.png

the ps3 is still moderate according to black ops game (im not sure should I trust that game tbh)

Throw in Mw2 and see what that says. Don't trust Black Ops to be honest, it kept switching on me one day and I didn't change any settings either.

I have to rent a copy lee, so thats a pain in the arse

Black ops should work grand and tell you what Nat you have. It might change every day because some routers refresh every 24 hours and it is assigned a new I.P.I have written a tutorial for the xbox forum for this type of thing found here which worked for me neways:P

Are you trying to setup port forwarding for both the PS3 and Xbox? I assume they have unique IPs? You may have issues using both consoles simulatanously if they are both trying to use the same ports

I dont know much about all this stuff, I just followed what the linksys live help told me (ya man didnt know much either I think)

what im trying to do is get both open nat and both i have unique ip

    edit

btw iv had problems with my laptop connection (wireless) since iv done the above

Ok so let me understand fully. You have both a PS3 and Xbox and you want the NAT type to be OPEN on both. Lets assume you have all the port forwarding correct for both XBL and PSN, bearing in mind, there is an overlap on some ports.

I suggest trying these scenarions and post back results:

Turn on Xbox, leave PS3 powered off, what's your NAT status on Xbox?
Turn off Xbox, power on PS3, whats your NAT status on PS3?
Have both consoles turned ON, whats the NAT status on each?

I had to unclick enable on this because im losing my laptop connection and xbox connection

so iv gone back to port range forwarding but iv no ports for the ps3 on that because of the duplication problem

Shammy has a similar setup, two consoles. May be worth checking with him how he manages it?

    another update

    iv gotten somwhere at least

    this_has_to_work.png

and iv used the ports that playstation network recommend

    http://manuals.playstation.net/document/en/ps3/current/settings/connecttest.html

"The port numbers for PlayStation®Network servers used for this are TCP: 80, 443, 5223 and UDP: 3478, 3479."

as you can see by the pic iv done them but still moderate even in MW2

what the hell am i doing wrong

your port forwarding . you do that when you want to assign ports to a specific ip address . you can a assign the playstation ports to its ip address and the same for the xbox (assuming you use static ip's and theres no crossover in the port ranges) or you can tab over to port triggering and open the ports for everything on your network

Do you have your Xbox turned ON at the time?
    Have you looked into uPnP?
Or putting both consoles in DMZ?

    http://www6.nohold.net/Cisco2/ukp.aspx?pid=80&login=1&app=search&vw=1&articleid=17155

To the best of my understanding, you won't be able to get fully OPEN NAT using both consoles concurrently.

i.e. if tcp/80 is required to be forwarded for both XBL & PSN, you can only forward it to one device.

In terms of TCP/IP, you cannot port forward tcp ports to two different private IP's, you would need a second public IP address to that that.
Your ISP is extremely UNLIKELY to give you a second public IP.

    e.g.
    myPublicIP1 >>>>>> xbox live port forwarding >>>>> myXbox (PrivateIP1)
    myPublicIP2 >>>>>> psn port forwarding >>>> myPS (PrivateIP2)

my mate and his brother have a ps3 and xbox each and can run them concurrently either both on xbox both on ps3 or one on each without any problems from the same house with a single public ip address . ive had the similar problem over the last few weeks trying to get my xbox and my brothers on live at the same time and the nat was always off on one or the other but i got it sorted when i assigned static ip addresses to each one and port triggered the ports (without going near the forwarding section) and presto problem solved 2 consoles same ports open nat on both

i dont know about tcp specifically but i have 2 computers running bit torrent using the same port which is open for both of them and they have no network issues

So you are saying both consoles have OPEN NAT while connected to XBL & PSN when being used simultaneously?

It can't be done using Port Forwarding, so as you suggested in earlier post, Port Triggering may be the solution.

EDIT: yeah they both have open nat even when there on together
yeah thats the idea . forwarding is basicly opening the ports for a specific device in this case the xbox/ps3 . since theres a crossover you have to pick which one you want to work with either the xbox or the ps3 . port triggering as i understand opens the port for any device on the router even if there connecting at the same time

Mine had suddenly changed to Strict having been on Open since I got the game. No idea why, and had some trouble fixing it but I sorted it last night. Here's what I did, it may be of use to other Perlico users.

PS3 > Settings > Network Settings > Internet Connection Settings

Go to custom settings, PPPoE and enter your username and password. For Perlico users, this is usually your phone number (minus the original zero) @perlico.com. So for instance, if your from Kilkenny with an 056 area code, it would be 568812345@perlico.com and the password is broadband. Everything after that I just let the PS3 do itself - auto detect ISP (I didnt have to enter it myself) or anything like that. Worked a charm :)
