Hi guys my dad bought me some computer components as part of a christmas present from a particluar german pc component site. Everything arrived on the 1st of December. As I was installing the CPU onto the CPU socket on the motherboard I noticed that it would not go in properly. I had a look at the CPU pins under a magnifying glass and I noticed that one of the pins was bent redface.gif

I emailed the website telling them about the broken CPU and they simply told me to send off my invoice along with the RMA forms I filled out and the broken CPU. UPS delivered the cpu to the site on the 9th of December. I did not hear anything back from them so I decided to call them yesterday.

I was speaking to this woman who told me that the replacement CPU was going to get sent off today. I called back today to ask were they going to send it off and the guy said that the people working for the site had a look at it and they said it was working fine for them confused.gif

I asked them did they fix it and the guy said maybe one of the engineers straightened the pin? eek.gif He also sent me another form to fill out which basically asks for the standard stuff including why was the product defective and crap like that but why does it mention stuff like this:

"I hereby certify on oath, after I have been advised about the consequences of a wrong sworn declaration
(a sworn declaration is equated with a perjury with the therefore usual criminally consequences,
§ 156 Strafgesetzbuch, Criminal code), that the following statements I will make are true:"

this form also asks me for witnesses? redface.giffrown.gif

"The witness below can affirm the truth of my above statement:"

I guess I am going to have to wait until it arrives back at my house but what should I do after that if its not fixed? mad.gif It really seems like they are trying to get away with my money

If they've tested it, and it works, then what's the problem? I've bent CPU pins before, and straightened them with a needle nosed pliers, and they've worked fine afterwards. So, if the tech that tested it noticed the bent pin, they probably repaired it. As long as it works, what more could you want?
