Good quality men's styling gels - advice on brands

    Hi Guys,

Doing the auld Christmas shopping and just remembered that the boyfriend needed some new hair gel (lol it's going to be a stocking filler, I'm not that stingy!)

He hates all the main stream brands (shockwave/brillcream etc) as they tend to leave little white bits in his hair by the end of the day and look like dandruff / look too wet / make his hair too hard! I remember him saying that he loved one that he used to use but was only sold in hairdressers and I can't for the life of me remember the name of it.

I'm not expecting you to figure out the brand I'm talking about since I've given barely any info to go on but can anyone suggest a good quality hair gel that they use?

I'm pretty much shooting in the dark here as I've never used hair gel myself so haven't a clue on the different types but know how he likes his hair. So, if I need to give further info let me know.

    Thanks in advance!

American Crew products are sold in most barbers and thats what your looking for. Gel is always going to leave a wet look and leave that hard feeling so look at matte products like fibre or paste and some waxes. Their is a product guide on the american crew uk website. There is another brand called lock stock and barrel that are excellent too but you have to buy online. Anyway they are only a little more expensive than the supermarket rubbish in the end because you only use a small amount at a time.

Same problem my fella was having but now he uses L'Oreal Studio Remix Fibre Paste and loves it. You can get it in boots but watch out as there is a very similar looking one that is not as good.

This is the one you want. loreal-boots-beauty-products-studio-line-remix-fibre-paste-150ml.jpg
