I posted a request here last night looking for a good Bluray player deal, so I went around the city today looking for some good deals and I found:

Philips BDP2500 with 300, The Hangover and The Dark Knight for €109.99

    IMG_20101214_160605.jpg

Link to bundle on UK site - £99

I picked this up myself as a gift for my dad, was a pretty good deal.

    They also had:

Some Sony Bluray player with Internet for €179.99 with Karate Kid, 2012 and District 9.

I personally think the first one is a better deal.

Thats a brilliant price for a Bluray player, especially with the two movies

    It's actually 3 movies

    300
    The Dark Knight
    The Hangover

It's not a great price to be honest...I picked up the Philips BDP3000 in HMV back in October and got it for 80 Euro. They'll have those much cheaper again in the sales after christmas.
And to be honest i've had lots of issues with my Philips Blu-ray player since I bought it. Between it freezing during startup , not playing certain blu-ray disks and slow to release firmware updates. The remote wrecks my head
too as you literally have to point it directly at the player for it to pick up the signal.

is only wireless READY. Meaning you need an optional wireless dongle for it. Just FYI for anyone thinking about it.

Those reviews are trivial at best. I own the BDP3000 like another person in this thread, and it's a decent player for the price. Like with all players at this price, your going to have issues with firmware, but thats a problem with the Bluray Standard and not necessarily the manufacturer.

Then again, if its dodgy, can't really go wrong for €110.

but it has a rj45 port. so no need for the wireless dongle.

The link I provided was for the BDP2500,the review for the 3000 are actually pretty good (for some reason).

I think this is the sony BDP-S370.
Xtravision seem to have this one for 150 with the blue version of Toy Story 3 and Karate Kid, alternatively I see the PowerCity website sell it for 130.
Amazon.co.uk sell it occasionally for £99 sterling.
I have it myself and am quite happy with it, have it connected to the internet via ethernet cable.

    Nope it's not the BDP-S730.

    The BDP-S370 is 169.99.
    The BDP-2500 is 109.99.

BTW didn't the OPs picture give away the fact that it was a 2500?

Yet to read a bad review of the BDP-S370. Actually thinking of selling my PS3
to get the BDP-S370 as you can make it multi region but you can't with a PS3.
€130 plus free delivery in Dublin, cant go wrong at that price.
