Help! Interlinked System and can't get a Plumber

    Hi,
My elderly parents have had a backboiler put in addition to their oil fired heating system. The backboiler was put in by a well known firm from Greystones. They have had a very problematic installation and have been left with a system that makes a loud knocking noise when switched on. I have traced this to what looks like a one way valve (not electric) which seems to make the knocking noise. The company refuses to have anything to do with it and we are now finding it impossible to get a plumber that has a. knowledge of these systems or b. will touch it with a forty foot bargepole!
I really need help on this as it looks like my parents have been left with a dud heating system and a lot of money down the drain.
Does anyone know of specialists that could repair this type of system?

I agree with Plumber man it sounds like a non return valve is fitted back to front or else a Valve is closed on the system. Again a few pictures of the system would help greatly.
Closed valves on a back boiler can lead to very serious consequences.
With regards to the Company who installed the system. I would send them a registered Letter stating the problems experienced and the potential danger to your parents. I would give them one last chance to rectify the problem and leave them in no doubt you will hold them personally responsible should any damage be done to the house or your parents.
