i am looking at demo cars on the net. Would one of these qualify as a new car to trade in a car older than 10 years to get scrappage?

Is the demo car already registered?

If you have a car that is worth "borderline" scrappage value then you might be able to do a "deal" that is "like" scrappage.

I did that against a demonstrator, getting €1500 for my car that would have qualified for scrappage as trade in. The benefit is that the car if in PWO, as mine was, can be kept on the road rather than scrapping a perfectly good car.

the government scrappage is a reduction in the VRT if the car is already registered the VRT has been paid and so this reduction is gone. Unless the garage is doing its own scrappage deal on top like renaults double scrappage or that
