Just spotted a cheque has been cashed against my account. I don't remember writing a cheque for about a year and I'm not at home to check my records.

If I ring up my bank with the cheque number will they be able to tell me who cashed it?

Was it made out to cash? You can ask your bank for a copy of the cheque. There is normally a fee for this of about €7.

Not sure. Sorry - when I say it was cashed I meant it's been debited from my account. Probably lodged somewhere.

Sounds bad. the cheque would have to written less than 6 months ago to be valid.
