    came across this "OwnZ yOuR B0x!!" today at link not sure if the owners know about it.

    So why don't you contact the website owners directly instead of posting on a public forum?

    Eeeeeem! As a person with an interest in developing a website someday (soon) I was curious if this was a common occurrence. Is it someone playing tricks for kicks? How were they able to infiltrate the index file to alter it? Just a pupil of the 'dark art' trying to learn

    Defacements are fairly common. The attack vector varies, but it's often an out of date / insecure CMS (or a plugin for same)
