Ah under 23s, I totally didn't see that... I'd say ya won't be the only over 23 year old missing out..

I wonder whether they'll get much of an international crowd to it?

It's aimed at 10-23 year olds who are learning English. Very cool.

If they had given judo lessons at school when I was learning Irish, I might now be able to speak a few words of it!

I thought the same but my coach said there was one senior session so I looked again. Completely missed it on the poster.
Wednesday Evening "Judo Clinic for Adults" with Mark Huizinga and Ilias Iliadis

They don't really seem to be promoting the senior class that much, but they probably know there is going to be a massive attendance for it anyway.

Anyone know the story for booking the senior session? The application form only seems to be for the kid's judo camp.

I've entered the senior session already through their email... info@linguafit.ie I think you only have to enter the kids online through the webpage. SHould be a great event.

How did it go last year? Was there a lot of people on the mat? Did you learn much?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13 Conor2010

There were easily over 100 people on the mat for the adult session.Great experience and the coaches were very willing to offer practical and expert advice.Myself and three others from Wild Geese Judo went and all four of us left thinking it was an amazing and worthwhile experience.

Huizinga and Iliadis went on for some randori with the judoka that attended which was surprising as it was only a week or two before a major comp.

I heard after that they had there own private little randori on the mat as well when the session was over. The met a few times in competition and I think they won two each. Didn't see this one though as we were getting changed and it was over when we came out. :(

2012 will have 5-day and 2-day sessions for adults, too and Iliadis is coming back... woohoo. Can't wait!

That sounds great! And it'll be amazing next yeear, on the mat with world champion, perhaps soon to be olympic champion! It's surprising he has time to take out of a pre olympic training schedule like.

    Ilias Iliadis = Olympic Champion (2004 - U81kg), World Champion (2010 & 2011 - U90 kg) and European Champion (2004 - U81kg / 2011 - U90kg) + IJA judoka of the year 2010

Mark Huizinga = 5 European titles, 1 Olympic Gold (2000) and 2 more Olympic Medals

Sergei Aschwanden = Double gold medal winner at the European Championships (2000 and 2003 in the under 81kg category), two third places in 2005 and 2006, bronze medal winner at the Munich World Championships in 2001, then silver at the ones in Osaka in 2003,

Aleksei Budolin = won his Olympic Bronze medal in Sydney in the under 81kg category. He has also won World silver and bronze medals and has been European Champion, indeed his record at European level is second to none winning 2 silver and 2 bronze medals also.

I think between them they have something like 23 European medals.... Amazing line up.

Did anyone see the coaching line up for next year's camp yet? Nice one. They have Olympic Champion and current Olympic Silver medalist Ole Bischof signed up for the 2013 camp. Craig Fallon will also come. Can't wait...

Hi guys, thought I mention this in case you haven't seen it. They have a masterclass again on Friday, 23rd August from 7.30 pm. Only 30 Euro per adult. I think you can arrive on the night and just pay. Not sure if you have to register beforehand? Does anyone know? Last time they had around 130 people on the mats. Anyone going?
