Hawke sport hd 4-12x50

rite lads im after buyin this scope for the 22wmr! id love to hear feedback and information both pro and con about this scope

i bought it from sportsden.ie for 70 euro...
is it worth it? and also it hasnt arrived yet in the post so would yee be able to tell me how long it takes to be posted out? first time dealing with sportsden but i like there website so i said ill give it a go and see is it as good as people say it is..

At the end of the day you get what you pay for. saying that I replaced my tasco sight with an 80 euro Hawke sight on my .22. Best value scope ever. Its got MAP8 reticle that works in conjunction with free balistic software so its a right handy little scope for a .22.
Been out in the cold with mine and there is no hassle with condensation etc. Nice clear scope

only problem is the parralax is really noticeable. Doesnt matter too much with the .22 though cause its perfectly accurate for hunting. wouldnt use it for target practice though.

had a hawke nite-eye 6.5-20x50 on my hornet and didnt rate it at all, fussy parralax, and poor clarity in the higher mag range so i'd never buy a hawke again, i have a nikko stirling on my .22 and find it way better, good optics for the price, bought it for about 50quid on ebay a few years ago

Don't have any experience with the scope so can't help you there but others on here surely will. As for Sporstden - I purchased some boots from them last week and they were delivered the next day. I found the boots too tight so I contacted them and they immediately sent me out another pair (one size larger) and asked me to hand the smaller pair back to the courier who would deliver the new ones. In both cases I got ''next day'' delivery from Sportsden and have to say I found their service excellent.

For the record I have no connection with Sportsden other than being a satisfied customer as I was impressed with their customer service.

I have the same scope on my HMR. Does the trick for me, rabits and corvids out to 200 no problem. Good quality at night time too. For that sort of price I think its value for money

i agree Tfox ive heard hawke are a good brand and me cousin has a hawke scope which he finds very good have you the exact same scope the hawke sport hd 4-12-50 with illuminated reticule? thanks

thanks for that brianf... can you tell me or can anyone else tell me that when you are ordering a product from sportsden why does it say shipping when arranging postage addresses etc... should they not have posting in there with shipping like this shipping/posting or am i on the wrong order fill out??? very confused over this.... any help would be great thanks

Anto, To be honest I don't quite follow you here so forgive my ignorance if I'm being a plonker or have missed something ......

''shipping'' is ''posting'' - means the same thing. You just put the item you want in the basket , give your credit card details, address etc.. and order the item. Right now Sportsden are doing free courier delivery via Fastway Couriers on all orders over Euro 100 . If you are having any problem with delivery of your item I suggest you give Simon Clarke a call at Sportsden,

hawke scope arrived today looking well, very nice IR system on it....
its the top scope the bottom one is RWS 4-12x40 if any of you know that brand it has parallax adustment but the zoom is jammed and is stuck on high zoom:( so this is its replacement the hawke sport hd 4-12x50 IR but that hasnt parralax adustment, is this a bad problem to have no parallax adus... which scope do you think is the best if they were both brand new condition??....
the scope is for .22wmr

How did the Hawke sport hd fair out is it any good, thinking of buying one myself. What rang is it good for on foxes?

Anto i had a hawke 4-12x50 sport HD on my .22 when i first got it, i sold it to my friend and wish i never had. i shot a lot of foxes with it at night super scope

bit worried at first as im not used to setting rifles they were set for me before i got them! anyway couldnt set it but i got my uncle up who is excellent at this sort stuff he set it at 2 cm groups at 100 yds! very happy with it as light was fading on us and we had to use the ir which was very good and immediatly improved accuracy during poor light conditions...

I usually shoot clay with my Beretta but recently got a cz .22 with a hawke sport hd 4 12x50. I am having a problem calibrating the sight to 50m. I am using a piece of a4 paper with a vertical & horizontal line to zero in. I had no problems using the right hand dial to adjust the horizontal to centre but the vertical is not working out. I have to use the third mildot down to hit the bull. the top adjustment dial is at the max and wont adjust up anymore. Any suggestions from fellow shooters? Thanks.

the problem is most likely with the mount, they might not be on straight. try swaping the mounts around could just work

I have also read of people using a couple of strips of plastic between the scope and the mount at the eye end. But I would like to find a better solution. I will try swoping the mounts at the weekend. Thanks.
