5k for new runner

    I have started running in the last few months and am at about 37 minutes for 5k on a treadmill. Its not easy for me but at the same time its very do-able.

    Is this very slow? My poor little legs are so short I dont think they can move much faster than they do.. :)

    As a new runner, you're not going to be very fast. The more you run, the faster you'll get. Read these threads, keep on running, run outside, enter a race... you'll get faster.

    Over time you will find that as you get stronger your times will come down. If it is very do able then perhaps look to slowly buillding up the distance perhaps try 5.5 every second time and 6 and so on.
    Regarding little legs the WR holders for 5k, 10k and marathon are all less than 5"6 so height is not always a disadvantage
